Gandhiji and India

As we remember Gandhiji on this October 2nd, let us not limit our remembrance to just this day or January 30th. Gandhiji was tragically killed by brutal fascist forces on January 30, 1948. Trying to erase the memory of this great soul and glorifying his killers would make India a laughing stock in the world. Therefore, let us remember Gandhiji every day and strive to build a society filled with humaneness and love for all, regardless of caste, color, or creed.

The light shown by this great soul should guide India in the coming years and push the fascist forces into oblivion. While the killers of Gandhiji might succeed in taking the lives of a few more individuals who follow his teachings, they will never be able to extinguish his teachings and memories. Let us take an oath to save India from fascist forces on this day.

Gandhiji’s legacy is so profound that even those who oppose his ideals use his image to project India’s fame globally. This was evident when Gandhiji’s bust was recently established at the Hiroshima memorial, visited by people from all over the world. During our visit to the Hiroshima memorial last November, we saw the true cruel face of the USA, which Indian fascist forces are trying to associate with. The USA, under the control of Donald Trump and his followers, mirrors the India controlled by fascist forces. India and the USA are now on the same boat in the world scenario, and we need to steer away from this path to save India.

The person who killed Gandhiji was merely an instrument in the hands of bigger criminals who conspired to end his life. Unfortunately, these conspirators are respected in present-day India, which is a deterioration of India’s reputation. We need to remember Gandhiji every day to take India forward. Gandhiji’s teachings can guide us only if we embrace all religions, as all progressive nations have done. We cannot make India a Hindu nation, as the fascist forces are attempting to do. They are destroying the identity of India and Hinduism. Genuine Hindus welcome all religions and are not against Islam or any other faith.

It is true that some Islamist forces have tried to increase their followers, but we are all against forced conversions. This issue could have been addressed through legal means. From now on, let us convert all children and people into the religion of humaneness, making them better human beings like Gandhiji. Let us remember that India is blessed to have given birth to this great soul. Let us remember Gandhiji again and again to build a better India.

Gandhiji, known as Bapu, was dear to the people of India. After independence, he was killed by divisive forces, and they continued to tarnish his memory by creating negative stories about his private life. Their heinous actions were evident from the neglect of Gandhi memorials across India over the last seven decades. However, I found that Gandhi’s spirit lives on in the hearts of genuine human beings worldwide. Those who have embraced humaneness and love for humanity will never forget this great soul. This was evident during my visit to the Martin Luther King memorial in Atlanta, where the Gandhi memorial has more details about Gandhiji than what is available in India at the moment.

Spreading negative images about Gandhiji’s private life was inhumane. We all have private lives and religions, but these are personal matters and should not be expressed in social life. Those who tried to tarnish Gandhiji’s memory by citing his private life were worse than animals. Let us recall that Nelson Mandela also followed Gandhiji. Gandhiji was not just an Indian; he became world-famous as a human being who championed human rights, love for others, and freedom of thought. The fascist forces of India succeeded in eliminating his body, but his teachings will endure as long as humanity exists.
