Lack of scientific attitudes

Dr. P K Sasidharan

Why India is going backward in public health, social security and indices of human development?
Do our people have scientific attitudes?
Why do we fail to build scientific temper in the masses?
Most of the problems in health care, politics and social issues in India can be traced to lack of good primary education and lack of scientific primary healthcare given by professionally trained family doctors. Due to poor primary education and very poor primary healthcare, we fail to instil humaneness and scientific temper and we fail to nurture these basic qualities. Basic principles and basic lessons to achieve public health,  individual health and lessons for building a healthy society are not passed on to children in the schools.
Trained and dedicated primary care doctors (GP/ family doctors) are essential to nurture humaneness and scientific temper.
At least realise now that good primary school teachers and good family doctors would instil and nurture humaneness and they would build scientific temper and thereby promote healthy living, healthy family and a healthy society.
Let us together work for bringing good quality primary education and friend- philosophers and guide kind of true doctors of modern medicine (genuine family doctors).
The picture above is a pointer to lack of scientific attitudes and lack of scientific primary care.
There is no place for urine therapy for any disease in a modern society.
