NEVER DISCUSS, EXPLORE, PUBLICISE SECRET LIVES OF ANYONE

Dr. P K Sasidharan

“In today’s digital age, the invasion of privacy and secrecy has become a rampant issue, often leading to devastating consequences.””Recently, I watched the Malayalam movie ‘Thanuppu,’ where a young couple’s private moments were secretly filmed and shared, leading to their tragic suicide due to moral policing.” In fact they were going through a crisis in their lives and they were advised by a quack to practise an unscientific solution for their infertility, which they were forced to do desperately, which anyone would do in such circumstances. Advice by the quack involved having sex soon after dip bath in a river. It was not actually a suicide, they were killed by these idiots – the quack who gave that crazy advise and the young men who made the video all are responsible for their death. “The couple’s tragic end is a stark reminder of the inhumanity that can arise from invading someone’s private life or secret life.” The moral of the story is never attempt to watch, explore or discuss secret lives of anyone. Secret life has to remain as secret always, throughout one’s life.

Every individual has three lives- one a public life which is visible publicly and could be watched by everyone every day;  it is observable and accessible to the public. Second is a private life involving family and very close associates even that should not be explored, especially in a negative manner. We should assess individuals based only on their public life; what he/she is doing in public and whether his/her activities in public life are honest or not, transparent or not or his public life is genuinely meant for the welfare of the society, or in other words does his activities in public life benefit the society or not. Even private life is the concern of his immediate family members and close friends, let them only deal with it. The secret life is purely a secret known only to that individual concerned and he/she would not like to discuss with anyone else or is not supposed to be discussed with any one- it has to remain a secret all throughout life.  This is because secret  life is centred around the sexual orientation, preferences, choices and sexual activities of an individual. It is nobody’s business to explore the secret life of any individual, except probably the spouse and even that would be at the risk of unforeseen events in their lives and the consequent unhappiness for the concerned persons. Even for a spouse it may sometimes be wiser to leave the secret lives unexplored, as long as their relation is fine and everything is fine at home and they are living happily. The other people around exploring and discussing secret lives are voyeurs and ruthless criminals with no element of humaneness.

Discussing and publicising secret lives of great souls like Gandhiji and Nehru has been happening in India in the last seven decades – these negative propaganda injected slow poison into the minds of unsuspecting innocent people, and educated fools  with no wisdom and poor thinking capabilities, who got attracted to these fascist ideas.  These two great souls emerged as natural leaders with no vested interests during freedom struggle and were worshipped in India and abroad. Their secret lives, mostly with cooked up stories,  were discussed and publicised across India, to kill their memories and the cohesiveness of Indians which were sustained delicately using secular and democratic values. Their criminal act of publishing the secret lives after their death finally led to the emergence of a powerful fascist regime  in India. That inhuman activity itself is a disqualification for their continued presence in India, because exploring, discussing and publicising secret lives is inhuman and criminal behaviour. If they celebrate on these they are worse than cruel animals.

“In conclusion, respecting the privacy and secret lives of individuals is not just a moral duty but a necessity to prevent tragic outcomes and maintain human dignity.”
